MediStart universities in Eastern, Central, and Southern European countries are largely financed through tuition and fees. The English-speaking courses in medicine, dentistry, and veterinary medicine also have associated tuition and fees.
In the table on the right is a list of potential openings for winter semester 2018/19 and the relevant tuition fees per semester. The tuition fees are payable only if you decide to enrol in the university, mostly on an annual basis covering two semesters of instruction. Currency fluctuations and adjustments are always possible. Do note: Riga is increasing the fees for its dentistry programme to € 7,000 per semester for the first year and € 7,500 per semester for years 3 and beyond. State grants are not enough to cover these costs, so most applicants will have to pay for the costs of the study abroad either themselves or with the help of their families. But this makes sense financially: instead of waiting 6 to 7 years for a placement at a domestic university and not making a living in your chosen profession, you will instead get started working as a physician, dentist, or veterinarian much earlier. Since doctors are urgently needed in many European countries, you will probably recoup your investment in study abroad after just one year’s work in your chosen profession.
We do charge a placement fee to cover the services and support we offer. The placement fee is only charged when you can actually be admitted to a foreign university. This helps you get started with planning your programme of study without any up-front financial risk.
The placement fee is equal to one year’s tuition at your chosen university (net). MediStart does not accept any commissions or payments from foreign universities or others: we represent only your interests as our client.
MediStart gets you your dream placement in just 3 steps:
- Complete and return the MediStart application. We can get you your spot even before obtaining the school-leaving certificate!
- Send in documents requested by MediStart. MediStart will take of all the rest, if you like.
- Participate in the MediStart preparation course and admissions test. Then you will get the study contract from the university of your choosing offering you a spot.
